Marco was a blessed child that had a very good start being cared for and raised by his grandma for most of his early life. His sisters were not as fortunate and they exhibited a magnitude of behaviors that only were intensified because of a horrible first out-of-home placement experience. John and I always knew that Marco would be OK.
We knew that the family that adopted them would be the perfect place for all three to grow up. The youngest sister turned 18 this year and we have heard that all three are facing adulthood squarely in the face, working and thriving. While we have not heard from them directly for quite some time, both John and I take heart in the fact that we were there to help them through a very difficult transition period in their lives, see them get adopted and form a new and permanent family.
