House of New Hope's Adult Foster Care Program is designed to give families peace of mind for their loved one by delivering quality services and respectful, compassionate care, within a family setting.

Families find peace of mind...

Families can have confidence in our commitment to their loved ones; serving the individual needs of those receiving our support. Foster care has provided nurturing, safe, and custodial care for adults who require placement outside of their family. The primary reason for placement in adult foster care is the need for care and protection. The role of the foster parent is that of caregiver and nurturer.

Encouraging independence and community involvement...

Our goal is to encourage as much independence as possible for the adult in our care, including the enhancement of adaptive behavior skills, vocational skills, educational skills and independent living skills as appropriate to your loved one's level of competence.

The Story of David

Developmental Disability Services

When David's mother passed away, having devoted her life to caring for his every need, remaining family members were concerned that he would have a great deal of difficulty adjusting to the multiple caretakers that would be necessary in order to provide 24-hour care.

David's SSA suggested Adult Foster Care as an alternative to Homemaker and Personal Care Services. They were moved by the idea of placing David in the home of a trained House of New Hope foster family who would not only provide all the necessary support spelled out in the ISP, but embrace David as a member of their family.

Over time, David grew to love his foster family, enjoyed yearly family vacations, participated in family activities, and continues thriving as a family member today.

The Story of Melinda

Melinda was ready to exercise a greater degree of independence. She moved into an apartment and with the assistance of her SSA was enrolled in a vocational training program.

In order to more fully meet her needs, she selected House of New Hope to provide Homemaker and Personal Care Services during times of the day and evening when she needed additional assistance and support. She continues to do well with minimal support and is a valuable member of her community.

HOMEMAKER PERSONAL CARE (HPC)

Understanding the challenges many individuals face on a daily basis, House of New Hope's Homemaker and Personal Care Service is a unique non-medical based home care service designed to assist individuals in maintaining their independence by residing in their own home or apartment.

Ambulation Assistance...

We can aid you in getting up from sitting or laying to a standing position, as well as, protective oversight while walking with assistance using a cane, walker or wheelchair.

Bathing and Showering...

We offer standby bathing and showering assistance which includes hair, back and legs.

Dressing...

We can assist you with dressing for the day or bedtime.

Exercise Assistance...

We can provide you with encouragement in maintaining or starting bodily movement that is not directed by a nurse or medical professional and is tolerated by you, the consumer.

Feeding Assistance...

We can help you eat, which includes eating by mouth, using common eating utensils, such as forks, knives and straws.

Hair Care...

We are able to assist you with your hair care needs.

Mouth and Denture Care...

We can help you brush your teeth or dentures.

Shaving Assistance...

We will assist you with your shaving needs using an electric razor.

Household Upkeep...

We will assist with cleaning, meal preparation and laundry.
