Won't You Consider Becoming a Child's Foster Parent?

Providing treatment foster care services to traumatized children with special needs is a commitment that can be extremely challenging... but extremely rewarding.  Most of the children in our program have been subjected to physical and/or sexual abuse as well as neglect, domestic violence, drugs, alcohol or other unpleasant life experiences.  Many of them have never experienced unconditional love, praise, or nurturing.  Many of them have never felt safe. Many of them have never been given a "voice" to express their deep fears and hurt. The time they spend in your home may be their first exposure to a loving, accepting family whose members nurture and care for each other.

The challenges makes the rewards that much more delicious.

The best time to plant a tree is twenty years ago. The second best time is right now.

Perhaps You Would Consider Opening Your Home to an Adult with Special Needs?

Adult Foster Care homes are residential settings that provide 24-hour personal care, protection, and supervision for individuals who are developmentally disabled, mentally ill, physically handicapped or aged who cannot live alone but who do not need continuous nursing care.

Adult Foster Care homes provide room, board and general supervision of personal care services in a family home. Adult Foster Care can meet the needs of adults who require periodic or regular assistance with activities of daily living, but do not require nursing services. Examples of "activities of daily living" include: dressing, bathing, eating, brushing teeth, or combing hair.

Developmentally disabled adults who are seeking Adult Foster Care services are folks desiring to feel part of a family, usually require minimal to moderate support to maintain or improve their level of independence and community involvement, and often want the same sorts of things out of life that you do.
